Ringwood town developed in the mid to late nineteenth century, following the 1850s land sales.[4] Before this, Ringwood was utilized basically for agriculture.[4] The mail station opened on 2 August 1875, in the then rustic area.[5]
In 1882, the development of the Hawthorn to Lilydale railroad through the rural area caused Ringwood to rise as a progressively striking town.[4]
1924 checked significant development for Ringwood. The railroad was charged and the township was further developed.[4] This improvement blasted post war, causing the City of Ringwood to be pronounced in 1960.[4]
The Ringwood check tower was worked in 1928 as a commemoration to the war. After the fruitful post-gloom subdivisions of land in the zone, Ringwood was perceived to be a piece of metropolitan Melbourne. Eastland Shopping Center opened in Ringwood in 1967.[6] It was redeveloped in the late 1990s and again in 2013. Its present state is 131,000 m2 ( 1,410,000 square feet) of retail and cordiality floor space, vehicle leaves and a film complex. In 2009, the proprietors of Eastland, Queensland Investment Corporation, intended to begin another redevelopment of the Eastland site. The Arcade close Eastland and the Ringwood Library started re-area in 2012. Development on the new focus started in 2013 and was finished in two phases. Stage one opened on 29 October 2015 and organize two on 5 May 2016.
