I sincerely hope this business year has been great for you and I look forward to working with you over the next year.
If I am ranking well in Google/SEO should I turn off my Adwords?
I get this question a lot. I quite often turn Adwords off myself but, I recently read this research paper here:
http://googleresearch.blogspot.com.au/2011/07/studies-show-search-ads-drive-89.html
The basic summary is that you lose 89% of potential visitors which is very surprising. The paper was researched by Google so I know it might sound suspicious but if you read the full paper you can see the formulas they used and it’s all scientifically sound. If you run both SEO and Adwords you create something called market ubiquity. Turning off Adwords and expecting the SEO to magically pick up the clicks won’t happen.
From now on, unless I am busy and full with work I’ll be keeping my Adwords on.
Mobile marketing is growing!
Research from Frost & Sullivan predicts that the Australian mobile advertising market will reach $682 million in 2018.
50% of companies plan to increase their mobile advertising budget substantially compared to the prior year. 79% reported intentions to increase mobile advertising expenditure by more than 10%.
In the last year there has been huge growth in mobile spending. This has been fuelled by newer smartphones but mainly tablets. The cost of ads has increased since Google have forced Adwords accounts to use mobile Ads.
